Starting at the corporate ID, we first looked at the concepts behind Designs.com. It was a simple, easy-to-use service that uncomplicates the process of setting up a website. It also had to convey the ability to customise and construct your own unique site. The main idea that really stood out was “Build”. The logo needed to show that you can easily build using this service. This brought up the idea of childrens building blocks and their simplicity. That was how the basic concept of the logo and the rest of the brand was born.
On the website the concept was carried through by using bold colors and geometric shapes. Even the website elements like the menu icon and the forms became building blocks with this style.
